Cold Calls That Work…Even While You’re Sleeping

Cold Calling Tips No Comments »

Cold calling is still common today but what you don’t know is that you don’t have to keep cold calling to generate leads! How can this be you might ask? The fact is that when you’re cold calling you’re really doing the advertising yourself by contacting one individual at a time and trying to convert them to a lead. But why would you do that when it’s possible get something or someone else to do it for you. Even when you can generate sales leads while sleeping?

The way this is possible is by using leverage. But before I get into that let me ask you a serious question: Would you rather do the same task hundreds of times (cold calling), or would you rather do something once and then have it go to work for you (the power of leverage)? I think most of us would choose the later method if we ever wanted to make some real money.

Leverage is the method of doing something only once and then letting your results do all the hard work for you. For example: instead of making 150 cold calls a day I could write two direct mail ads and send them out to thousands of people. That is the power of leverage. Not only is writing the ads faster to accomplish, it’s far more effective in reaching a larger audience. However I think I know what you’re thinking, “I’d rather cold call someone instead of mail them something because they are more likely to listen and it’s easier to get their attention.” Well that might be true (and it might not be) but I would rather contact hundreds and thousands of people with a slightly less effective method than contact 150 people with a method that might produce only a slightly better result per person. However if you can cold call thousands of people a day then you may have a point but as we both know you can’t possibly do that. However I can send out as many direct mail pieces as I can afford and with direct mail being so cheap these days that’s a whole lot of mailings.

Instead of trying to improve your ineffective cold calling methods you should really be looking into alternative methods of marketing that allow you to gain immense amounts of leverage. You should be looking for a system that will for you, not by you to bring in massive amounts of leads without having to pick up the phone to call strangers.

Cold Calling Tips - How To Use Email In Selling

Cold Calling Tips No Comments »

Cold calling tips are great as long as you use them! Make sure to implement this tip into your sales arsenal to bring in lots of hot prospects.

If you’re sick of wasting your time cold calling or you simply want to supplement your cold calling efforts then you need to be using the newest techniques. You need to be using the power of email!

Email is such a common tool that it is often ignored…especially in the field of selling. The Next time you try to get a hold of someone try sending an email instead of dialing that phone.

Email has many benefits over cold calling. The most major benefit is that your prospect can view your email when they have the time and it’s not going to interrupt their day like a cold call does. It also allows your prospects to save your email and get back to you at a later date if they need to contact you at a more convenient time. A cold call doesn’t do that.

So what do you need to do?First you need to get the email addresses of your potential prospects so you can use them. This is very simple. Just about every business card you see these days has an email address on it. To collect emails you could also visit multiple businesses every once in awhile to collect business cards that will fill your list of prospects to email. You can even purchase a list from a list broker of targeted prospect’s email lists for fairly cheap if you want to save even more time.

After you obtain your prospect’s email address you need to write your message. Write only one message for your list of prospects. But also make sure to personalize each one before sending them out.

You want to make your emails personal yet professional. Greet them by their name, introduce yourself and get right into your message so as not to waste their time. Don’t make it sound stuffy like your company’s typical marketing. Write the email as if you are telling a friend about your great product or service. You must write so the person reading it is engaged and can see how it benefits them. Then to close the email you need a specific call-to-action and a reason why they should respond. This is specifically telling your prospect what to do next and what reward they will receive. You could have them call you, fax you, or email you back to get free information or a free gift.

Don’t underestimate this method any longer. You will get a much greater response from this then you ever would from cold calling strangers.
